PMI Nashville - 2015 Spring Symposium
PMI Nashville August 2014 Luncheon - Leadership from a cubicle
About this event: You don’t have to be an executive to think like one. Good leadership is a state of mind, not a business title. Come discover the elements to good basic leadership skills and how to use them as Dale’s passion for developing entrepreneurial talent started in high school and has been fine tuned throughout his career working for various companies around the world. Dale’s efforts are focused on showing company leaders, as well as individual business professionals, how to harness their earning power and deliver effective bottom line results. The resources and skills that Dale brings to the table challenges conventional thinking and rocks the world of traditional business approaches—and the end result is undeniably superior to anything else out there. Dale’s methodology injects intense entrepreneurial thinking into the professional mindset. The reality and immediate success rate that comes through Dale’s approach not only improves the mood of work, but allows people to reach new heights in their career.
In 2011, Dale wrote the book Resumes are Worthless, which outlines just a few of the successful business methods that have helped Dale achieve the successes outlined here. You can read his blog and listen to his “Company of One” podcasts at www.dalecallahan.com. Dale sits on the advisory boards for Tech Birmingham and the Alabama Information Technology Association. He is a member of the National Speakers Association. Dale was recognized in 2011 as one of UAB's 40 School of Engineering Graduates Making A Difference and received the 2013 UAB Graduate School Dean's Award for Excellence in Mentorship.

About this event: Whether it is delivering bad news to a stakeholder, dealing with a poorly performing team member, or reining in a zealous scope, many people have some exposure or training of both Agile/Scrum and PMI PMBOK methodologies. Yet, it can still be difficult to understand the connections between how the triple constraints (scope, schedule, budget) and PMBOK areas of knowledge play out in an Agile/Scrum world. Elise will share some of her insights and connections from her own Agile learning process by comparing the two methodologies side by side. She will also suggest some key questions to ask if your organization is considering the move to Agile/Scrum.
Presented by: Elise Hudson

One significant career highlight was Elise’s management and enterprise project/program prioritization.
