About the Presenter
Mr. Wessels’ responsibilities include facilitation of public and onsite workshops. As a consultant, he provides rapid project planning, methodology assessments, project management maturity assessments, and project intervention. He is a subject matter expert for course development and a speaker at national and international conferences.
Mr. Wessels was a lead instructor and subject matter expert on a Professional Project Management Certification program with a confidential Federal agency. This 5-year engagement involved assisting in the development of a workshop on the Introduction to Project Management and Systems Engineering. He presented over 75 5-day workshops in the United States and abroad in that period of time. He has also performed rapid project planning sessions and other facilitated meetings with confidential Federal Agencies.
Mr. Wessels has taught both open enrollment and on-site workshops for many government organizations including the Federal Acquisition Institute where he provided training for the Federal Acquisition Certification in Program and Project Management (FAC P/PM) program. He has conducted a year long Master’s Certificate program with the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan. Other government clients include DFAS, GAO, HUD, USDA, NTSB, CDC, NPS, SAMHSA, IHS, FAA, JPL, FEMA, HHS, DHS, and all branches of the uniformed services.
His government contractor participants include Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Battelle, EEG, and SAIC. Mr. Wessels has successfully conducted rapid project planning sessions with private companies like HCA Healthcare Financial ERP, HCA Healthcare Revenue Service Centers, Airborne Express, Sky Bank, First Merit Bank, Citizens Bank, New York Life Insurance, and Hutchinson Technologies.
As a PMP®, Mr. Wessels, has taught countless PMP® Certification workshops at various PMI® Chapters. He has also provided mentoring and coaching about the PMP® process. He has taught professional PMP® Certification material that ranged from 2-days sessions to week-long “boot camps.” He has the ability to translate PMBOK® material into real situations and can portray the material as “a day in the life of a project.” He is comfortable with and can relate the “PMI-ism’s” that are found in the PMP® exam and helps clients internationally.
