Position Summary:
Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) manages and oversees the Program Management Office (PMO) function to ensure Infrastructure programs and projects meet organization standards and goals. This role will foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders within the organization, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, training and support to enhance the project/program management capability, and improve collaborative development and project results. Duties include ensuring that business standards are upheld, managing the organization and scheduling of projects, and overseeing members of project teams to keep them on task. Performs as a senior-level project leader on high priority projects/programs. Implements and provides guidance related to existing and new PMO processes and policies, oversees the work of project management staff, and works with other departments leaders to define, prioritize, and execute projects and programs. This position will manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and will serve as the first point of escalation. PMO manager will report directly to the VP – Program Management Office.

Key Role Indicators:
– Developing and Leading the Project/Program Management Office (PMO): The PMO is a ‘Centre of Excellence’ that helps achieve better quality, consistency, and oversight of projects across an enterprise by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards and tools.
– Establishing the Organization’s Approach to the Full Life Cycle of Projects: This includes everything from project planning, initiation, resourcing, and execution to monitoring, control and completion.
– Ensuring the PMO meets Performance Targets: Align with the organization’s strategic objectives and adhere to best practices.
– Acting as Trusted Strategic Advisor: May work alongside business leaders to help determine which projects should be undertaken why and when, not just now.

Duties & Responsibilities:
– Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM)
– Budget, cost, and profitability management skills
– Knowledge of resource management tools
– Creditability as a senior-level project leader
– Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture
– Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolutions Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers, and vendor groups
– Lead the Project Managers and Project Coordinators and deliver an exceptional outcome to clients on all projects
– Develops and implements PMO strategy and standards of operation
– Creates methods to track PM and project performance and is able to compare against goal benchmarks
– Train and mentor new Project Managers; provide guidance and feedback regarding performance on an ongoing basis
– Provide clear communication of project stats and numerical data related to percentage of goal completion
– Lead and deliver an exceptional outcome to clients on all projects
– Coordinate project work with internal and external resources

– Implement project schedules including each task associated with the project completion
– Anticipate potential project roadblocks and identify alternatives in an independent and efficient manner

– Produce consolidated reporting to the PMO and project teams
– Track project phase completion against milestones
– Develop and nurture client relationships
– Ensure resolution of technical and service-related issues by being actively engaged in projects

Education & Requirements:

– BA / BS College Degree, or equivalent work experience
– Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal
– PMP Certified, Preferred
– Healthcare technology background
– Previous infrastructure technology experience to include servers, network, IT security, data center, applications, middleware, database, and web environments
– Ability to develop formulas, pivot tables and complex charts in Excel
– Experience working with QuickBase, Preferred
– 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
– 4 + years of Project Management experience
– 4+ years of Systems Development Lifecycle experience
– Proficiency in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
– Must be a team player
– Able to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously
– Ability to diffuse difficult situations in a calm and professional manner, while remaining customer-centric
– Able to make decisions quickly and adapt to an ever-changing environment seamlessly
– Ability to travel by airplane or car to sites across the US, as needed (up to 50%) REQUIRED
