PMI Nashville July 2022 In-person event at Lipscomb University – Project Management & Sales Skills make a GREAT team!

Summary of Event:

Have you ever thought about how important your sales skills are as a project manager? You may not think of yourself as a salesperson, but in many ways, you need sales skills as an influencer and a communicator while leading projects. In this session – we will start with a brief overview of what sales skills are, why everyone needs them, and how to use them… THEN we will move into practicing a few basic skills! This will be a fun and interactive session to learn and collaborate with other project managers. We’ll wrap up with time for questions/comments.

Rebecca Burcham, PhD, MBA

About the Presenter:

Rebecca Burcham is an Assistant Professor in Healthcare Management at Lipscomb University. She teaches courses in Marketing Strategy, Personal Selling, Sales Management, Business Ethics, and Healthcare Marketing and Management. Prior to joining Lipscomb, Rebecca spent over two decades serving in a variety of marketing and sales roles for several Big Pharma companies. Her career began as a microbiologist serving in a laboratory position of an environmental nuclear testing laboratory and management roles of an FDA-contracted medical testing laboratory.

Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Mississippi State University, an MBA from Belmont University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration in Marketing from Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include sales and marketing ethics in healthcare, outsourcing of sales and marketing functions in healthcare, and salesperson performance factors.

Rebecca also has a strong background in non-profit service including volunteering with numerous animal welfare agencies. She has served in leadership positions on the boards of several non-profit agencies, including Past President of Nashville Humane Association. She graduated from the Young Leaders Council and was appointed to the Mayor’s committee to form the Safe Coalition, a collaboration of non-profit, government, and corporate partners to better the lives of pets in Nashville. When she’s not working or volunteering you will find her at home with her husband, Stan, and her 3 furbabies – Lexi, Larky, and Huey!

DINNER:

You will be able to choose from a variety of box lunches onsite. Please email programs@pminashville.org if you have a special dietary need (such as gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian).

WAIVER:

Attendees will be required to sign a Coronavirus Release Form onsite the day of the event (on behalf of PMI).

We will enter the campus from Belmont Blvd. Please park in the Arena West Parking Garage (P2 on the map) then follow the sidewalk to Swang Business Center (#39 on the map). Enter the building on the west side between Swang and Beaman Library (#38). Registration will be in the lobby of Swang Business Center and the meeting will be in Stowe Hall.
