Position Summary:

The Scrum Master is responsible for leading IT project teams through all phases of the software development project lifecycle.  This role will be responsible for promoting and reinforcing the Agile Scrum Framework in order to develop and maintain complex systems that support Administrative and Creative teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Responsible for implementing Agile Scrum Framework methodologies, ceremonies, principles, and processes, and creating an environment that allows the development team to be highly effective
  • Responsible for facilitating multiple Scrum teams and ensuring that Scrum processes are used as intended
  • Facilitate effective and efficient meetings including Agile/Scrum ceremonies
  • Helps project leads/product owners to get the product backlog in good shape and get them to ready it for the next sprint
  • Conduct retrospective meetings, organize and facilitate the sprint planning meeting
  • Be a servant leader to each team member and support the removal of impediments/blockers
  • Engage multiple roles and stakeholders in critical discussions and consensus building
  • Coach and support continuous improvement within the teams
  • Help identify and mitigate any external dependency risks in project version releases
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and their teams on deliverables
  • Ensure all status reporting of objectives, deliverables, issues, and updates is clearly and consistently delivered at the working team, management team, and senior leader levels
  • Maintain the product vision and strategy and effectively communicate that vision to the scrum team / project team


  • Minimum of 3+ years as a full-time Scrum Master
  • PMI–Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified SAFe (Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) Certifications required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
  • Must be aligned with Sony’s Purpose and Values
  • Proven experience in project/program management
  • Experience in transforming traditional waterfall-based organizations to adopt the Agile Scrum Framework
  • Experience working in global scale deployments
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior level management
  • Strong documentation skills – detailed tracking, metrics-based reporting and roll-ups, etc.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment
  • Ability to work on multiple Scrum teams at the same time
  • Detail oriented and ability and desire to see projects through
  • Team player and leader who can effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Proactive at identifying and removing impediments
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • 5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events
